The group has emphasized the importance of clinical laboratory medicine by standardization of best laboratory practices with incorporation of cutting edge technologies and test assays throughout its 18 affiliated hospital laboratories as well as a host of smaller clinic and office laboratories. Four ASCP-certified medical technologists are employed by the group to facilitate this process and serve as expert laboratory consultants, one of whom has specialized training in Process Excellence and Lean Thinking.
